Jim Cawley started in the IT industry in 1985 working for Dataphase which owned and operated the Computerland
franchises in the SW United States. During the next 10 years Mr. Cawley worked in all facets of
the IT industry, including marketing and sales, operations, and management. In 1995, he became the
owner and President of Executive Performance Systems and successfully transitioned the company from
providing executive data mining services on legacy UNIX platforms to proving mid-market ERP solutions
for the supply chain industry utilizing Microsoft technology. EPS had regional offices throughout
the U.S. before being sold in 2005.
In 2003, Mr. Cawley split the development operations from EPS and formed Savant Software, Inc. Under
his leadership, Savant has emerged as a leading development company for mid-market supply chain applications
with a customer base that spans 4 continents.
Mr. Cawley and his family have a passion to care for those in the community experiencing tough times. As such,
they dedicate their time and resources to feeding the hungry through local and international food banks. They
also provide support for animal rescue shelters in Arizona and Nevada.
Chris Jackson has over 13 years of marketing and software sales experience. Mr. Jackson is
responsible for creating the national/international marketing and channel development programs
for Savant’s WMS, Shipping Manifest and Mobile Application solution stacks. He also manages the
day to day activities of the company sales and marketing, customer interface, direct sales
responsibilities, independent resellers and OEM relationships worldwide. Prior to Savant Mr.
Jackson was a part of the start-up team for Mastering Computers. Within 3 years Master Computers
had grown to over 350 sales reps and Mr. Jackson ranked 8th in total sales volume. Shortly
thereafter Mastering Computers was purchased by Platinum Technologies and then by Computer
Associates. In addition Mr. Jackson has been an integral part of companies such as Critical Path,
Inc., Touchscape, Inc. and TecServ, Inc.
Mr. Jackson’s career began in wholesale distribution he worked for Shamrock Foods Inc. in Phoenix,
Arizona. Shamrock Foods is the largest privately held third party logistics company in the southwest.
With industry experience in distribution and software sales, Mr. Jackson has proved to be an integral
part of the success of Savant.
Ms. Cawley holds a BS in Computer Engineering and a MBA. She has over 20 years of system design and has
led development teams working in the banking, healthcare microchip manufacturing and food distribution
industries. Ms. Cawley was the chief architect of one of the first WMS solutions utilizing Microsoft
technology. She assisted Symbol Technologies with the development of their initial Windows server/client
radio frequency communication tool. Ms. Cawley has implemented distribution and WMS solutions on 5 continents
and is highly regarded for her ability to apply real world distribution expertise into technology driven
solutions. Ms. Cawley is a member of IEEE and served on the UCC standards committee that developed many of
today’s ASN protocols.
Her responsibilities include managing the development and support staff, developing Savant code with the
adherence to Savant standards, researching environmentally friendly methods that can be applied to Savant’s
supply chain applications, developing and maintaining acceptable support protocols and resolution times.
Savant's founders, Jim & Diane Cawley, started dating in HS and were married during their college years. Diane pursued a BS in Engineering degree focusing on computer programming while Jim studied religion. During his college experience, Jim worked for the local Computerland franchise and was "hooked" on the emerging technologies. Upon graduation Diane became a full-time programmer working for various software development companies. Jim migrated towards management and eventually became the IT manager for a local healthcare organization. Jim started Executive Performance Systems (which later became Savant Software) as a software consulting firm providing EIS solutions to manufacturing and distribution companies. Diane joined EPS in 1995.
